Emmy award-winning actress, Eva La Rue is the star of the new Pureflix romantic comedy, Finding Love In Quarantine and she has a new recurring role on BET’s The Family Business. Most recently she was the host of the CW series Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Animal Tales. La Rue is perhaps best known for her long-running roles on the CBS primetime series CSI: Miami, still seen daily in syndication in over 150 countries and on the now-iconic ABC daytime drama, All My Children. As a humanitarian, she currently works with the Tahirih Justice Center to help end the problems of human trafficking and other human rights violations. She has previously served as spokesperson for the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Other notable acting work by Ms. La Rue includes starring roles in the telefilm A Killer Walks Amongst Us, Hallmark’s Help For The Holidays, Lifetime’s Cries in the Dark, the film telefilm Dancer & The Dame with Billy Gardell; and Lakeview Terrace with Samuel L. Jackson. She is also known for her recurring roles as George’s sister on the ABC hit show The George Lopez Show, NBC’s Third Watch and Showtime’s Soul Food. Early in her career she played memorable starring roles in Danielle Steele’s Remembrance and the title role in A Dream In A Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story. La Rue won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performer for the CBS drama The Young & The Restless in 2020 and previously earned multiple Emmy and NAACP nominations for her long-running portrayal of Dr. Maria Santos All My Children where she played the quintessential heroine. For this role, she also won the prestigious Gracie Award from the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television as well as winning two highly esteemed American Latino Media Association (ALMA) Awards.
