*READ ME FOR IMPORTANT STUFF* Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction 0:20 Part 0: What Guard actually is 1:10 Part 1: What it does & how it works 3:00 Part 2: Guard VS. Damage Reduction 4:30 Part 3: How Guard interacts with your defense 5:30 Part 4: Guard VS. True Type Advantage 6:10 Part 5: How Guard interacts with the Hidden Potential 7:15 Part 6: Misconceptions about Guard 7:50 Part 7: Final conclusions Video notes: 1) At 5:59 I said that to get the "arrow pointing down guard" you needed to be type advantage against an unawakene enemy, however after more testing I noticed that it also happens when you're type neutral, so just ignore my voice for that part, the text on screen is correct however. 2) Despite me saying stuff like "zero point eight" to describe decimal numbers, in the video I wrote them as "0,8" with a comma instead of a dot, this is due to this being normal practice where I live, the outcome is the exact same. At 3:08 the dots and commas are switched around due to that sequence being pre rendered in after effects before I decided to use the comma to represent decimal values. 3) "Type modifier" and "Type multiplier" are the same exact thing, just a different way of saying it, same goes for "Guard multiplier" and "Guard modifier". 4) Parenthesis have been omitted from the video formulas to save space and make them look prettier in video, the real damage taken formula should be "((Enemy ATK * Type Modifier) - Def) * Guard Modifier", doesn't really change a whole lot if you do the calcs from left to right, just makes it more mathematically accurate if you take multiplication priority into account.
