Oh my goodness, this is a must-see video for anyone who likes the color blue! Magical, shimmery Blue Morpho butterfly wings really make this Dutch pour POP. I’ve used real butterfly wings in some other paintings before, but morpho wings are trickier because adding varnish totally ruins the structural blue color on the wings! In order to mix the two, I decided to laminate the wings first, then add the plastic-coated wings into the wet paint. Today I mixed my paint with just water - but be sure to use artist-quality paint instead of craft paint! The mix is thinner than a Dutch-pour-with-floetrol consistency. Titanium White (Creative Inspirations) Phthalo Blue (Creative Inspirations) Bright Aqua Green (Blick Studio Acrylics) Blue mix (scrapings from a previous pour) King’s Blue (Amsterdam) Metallic Blue (Sargent) Subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss each new video!
