Start your fruit growing journey with these three bushes. In this video I show and talk about my top three easiest to grow berry bushes. These bushes are all being recommended for the same reason, minimal effort for an abundant crop. First on the list is Gooseberries! Gooseberries look and taste like a grape but are much less maintenance then caring for grape vines. They also remind me a little of growing blueberries but produce significantly more then a blueberry. Gooseberries grow in zones 3-8 and prefer full sunlight. I have two different varieties Invicta and Hinnomaki red. Invicta produces a large green berry and Hinnomaki red produces a large pink berry. Both varieties have been doing extremely well here in zone 7a @UncleClaysOrchard. Second berry bush on the list is blackberries. Blackberries give such an abundant crop for minimal effort. In this video I show three different types of blackberries. I have the Triple crown thornless, Prime Ark Traveler and Ouchita. The triple crown thronless has the best tasting berry out of the three but the prime ark traveler berry is almost 3 times as big. I talk about different ways that blackberries can grow and also give a close up of some of the flowers. Third on the list is Goji berry. Goji berry might be number one on this list if it wasn't fore the berry having and acquired taste. It taste more like a spice then a normal berry. Its used for pies, preserves, salads, salsas not normally eaten fresh off the bush. I love goji berries because they have an extended harvest time. We were picking the berries last year for what felt like 6 weeks. At the end of the video I show a bonus fourth bush, my Olympian Fig. Figs are also easy to grow but do not make the top three because there is more maintenance involved with a fig. Most varieties need to be covered in the winter time, there is more fertilizing and water needed and much more pruning. #fruit #garden #gardening #orchard #fruittrees #homestead #bushes #figs #backyardfarming
