"Rusty" 79 XLCH Ironhead New Skool Rat Bobber running - distressed patina finish in progress!

I wanted to build a bike to run about town with, I did not want to spend a lot of money and I wanted a bike that would turn heads, strike up conversations and generally stroke my ego. I noticed a new trend in appreciation for "ratt" or "rat" bike immerginf so, I thought, why not! Work continues on creating a "barn find" look to this rat or ratt (Ridden All The Time) Ironhead Bobber. I'm using a ferrous oxide carrier with a rust activator which is used by sculptors to create the patina you see on a new sculpture or bust. This process takes time to get to the point one might like but, done correctly it can look great. Apply the base, allow to dry, apply activator, wait 7 hours , steel wool off unwanted rust spots, do it all over. Do not want to completely rust out the bike so I do a little corrective triple-O steel wool to clean and modify the rust areas and then make another application. so far, we have about 8 applications now little by little. This time I also thought it would be nice to feature the bike running. Still working on the bike and I will upload a new video soon showing it in its "finished" state. Thanks for looking.
