https://gofund.me/676ff5cfc - Equipment Go Fund Me Chloe Zhao's 2025 film 'Hamnet' follows Will (Shakespeare) and his wife Agnes as they bring children into the world, see the brutal death of one and in the aftermath, cope with literary inspiration that would bring about the real-life play, 'Hamlet'. It feels like 99% of viewers found it to be a compelling, moving and masterful film depicting loss in an authentic way. But once you look beyond the glorified press releases we call reviews these days, there also seemed to be more people than I thought in my camp - the one that has a lot of issues with the film. The film does seem to have successfully affected people and functions as a beautiful artwork reflecting the very human experience of grief - who am I to argue with that? Well I'll tell you! But seriously, I am a tiny bit scared to vocalise my thoughts amongst a sea of glowing reviews (and incredibly talented Irish actors' rightful appreciation) so go easy on me! This is just my opinion!
