Microsoft is celebrating 40 years of their longest running franchise. In the new 40th Anniversary update for Microsoft Flight Simulator we were given some new historical aircraft like the one that started it all: The Wright Flyer. It's mind-blowing to think how far we come in aviation in just 100 years. Let's visit this historical site in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina and take The Wright Flyer for a spin with Orville and Wilbur. Until we can make it there in person, this is as good as it gets! Later in the video I also go into more detail on what this aircraft is made of and how it operated. Designed and built by Wilbur and Orville Wright in Dayton, Ohio it was assembled in the autumn of 1903 at a camp at the base of the Kill Devil Hills, near Kitty Hawk, a village on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Enjoy a brilliantly designed simulation of that site and historical day on December 17th, 1903. 2) The machine was never flown after December 17. While sitting on the ground after the fourth flight, it was flipped by a gust of wind and badly damaged. Shipped back to Dayton it was then reassembled and repaired as needed for temporary exhibitions before being put on display at the Science Museum, London, in 1928. 3) Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong took a 8" x 13" piece of muslin fabric from the left wing of the Wright Brothers' 1903 Flyer to the moon aboard the lunar module Eagle on the first moon landing on July 20, 1969. #msfs2020 #microsoftflightsimulator #flightsimulator #history #aviation #aviationlovers #wrightbrothers #kittyhawk 00:00 - Intro 00:22 - The 40th Anniversary 00:54 - First Impressions 02:20 - Unlocking More Freedom 04:44 - The Little Details 07:23 - Their Living Quarters 07:47 - Where it Took Place 08:15 - About the Wright Flyer 09:55 - Conclusion
