This is a mediaeval-style sealing wax, though not made with a period process and without the toxic pigments. The candle dyes are optional, as natural beeswax colour is mediaeval period appropriate. It's intended for use on letters, scrolls etc. not for food. Safety note - please use an electric oven for this, as the ingredients are all highly flammable and using gas or an open flame would be very hazardous. Recipe 50g pine resin, dissolved in 50g isopropyl alcohol, stirred into 100g melted beeswax (natural or coloured), gently heat to evaporate the alcohol. Pigments Red - 1 square of solid dye or 50 drops of liquid dye to 1kg beeswax Green - 1 square to 1kg beeswax Black - 1 square to 100g beeswax Yellow - either leave natural or 1 square to 1.5 kg beeswax
