XCEPT East Africa Workshop: Panel 1: Conflict and Regional Contestation

On 13 and 14 June 2023, XCEPT hosted a workshop in Nairobi that brought together policymakers, researchers and practitioners to consider research and evidence on instability across borders in East Africa, recognising the significant challenges they pose to regional security and development. This panel session undertook an examination of the spillover and regionalisation of conflict. The focus was on Sudan and Ethiopia as well as instability across the borders of South Sudan, Somalia, and Kenya.
