This time we visit Blue Mountain , the highest peak of Mizoram. We took Saraighat Exp upto Guwahati , get down at Kamakshya Junction . Visit Umananda Temple , taking bath in Bramhaputra river , then visit Kamakshya Temple. Then we took Guwahati - Sairang exp and get down our final destination at Sairang , Mizoram. it was an excellent train journey. take a cab and proceed towards Reiek village via Aizwal . Inspite of the available room at Reiek Tourist Resort , we prefer to choose camping at the top of Reiek peak , ie. Reiek Tlang . it was an amazing experience with the night view of Aizawl city. Next day we proceed towards Blue Mountain in Phawngpui National Park via Aizawl. Aizawl city goes to festive mode on that Christmas week. We proceed towards Serchhip. And then Sangau, the base of Phawngpui National Park. Then from Thaltlangvillage, base of Blue Mountain, we trek upto Far pak, 1st peak of Blue Mountain. Due to shortage of time , we return to Thaltlang after 7+7, 14 km. hiking . The top of the Blue Mountain may be another 7 km hiking. So, it is very difficult to hike Blue Mountain top in one day. If you can try to reach the top , stay at Sangau and next day early morning proceed towards Blue Mountain . It will be approachable if you camp over there , or arrange to stay at Far Pak or take a car upto Far Pak and then hike to the top. We stay at Sangau Tourist Lodge on 24/12/2025 and proceed towards Serchhip on 25/12/2025 .
