It didn’t feel like the start of a life-changing journey. It just felt hot. Brutal, Midwest-hot. ADV gear clung to us like tar as we tore across 389 miles of unforgiving South Dakota pavement, trying to outrun the heat. This is Day 1 of my very first long-distance motocamping expedition: 14 days, 2,300 miles, four cameras, and one friendship. What begins as a ride toward the Black Hills quickly becomes something else. Something heavier. In this episode, we leave central Minnesota and make our way toward Mobridge, SD. Not much beauty in the land yet, but the road has already begun its work on us.
