Understanding the Purpose and Meaning Gap A recent graduate of the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, Adam has spent the last 4 years attempting to find his calling in public accounting, corporate finance, healthcare consulting, and different community leadership roles. The pressure of finding the "right" life caused mental and emotional difficulties that ultimately lead Adam through some extreme highs and lows. Now he realizes his true passion exists outside a traditional role of employment; he is dedicated to helping others overcome barriers and realize their potential through his start-up Real Empowerment Solutions, coaching and mentoring youth, and observing the universe. --- The individuals involved with TEDxUMN have a passion for bringing together the great thinkers at the University of Minnesota and giving them the opportunity to share their ideas worth spreading and to discuss our shared future. We provide these great people the opportunity to share these ideas on a global stage and with an incredibly diverse audience. We believe in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately the world. Check out TEDxUMN at http://www.TEDxUMN.com/ In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
