A Bakersfield family continues to grapple with the aftermath of a devastating 2024 crash in the Mojave Desert that left their 5-year-old daughter, Dalilah, with life-altering injuries. The accused truck driver, Partap Singh, an undocumented immigrant from India, was arrested in August 2025 during an immigration raid. Singh, initially held at the Mesa Verde facility in Bakersfield, has been transferred to a facility in Texas.
