Austin 1300 SU HS4 Carb & Fuel Pump Restoration Eps.8 - Ado16

Jan 2020 - The SU HS4 1 1/2" carburettor and SU mechanical fuel pump from my 47 year old Austin 1300 were stripped and refurbished. The engine itself hadn't been run for 40 years and was seized (see prev. episodes). However, for these items it was a case of cleaning them up and replacing gaskets etc using repair kits. I couldn't afford new spindle bushes or the full carb repair kit with the fuel link pipe, but it's my first stab at doing an SU carb so I'm prepared to rework them in the future if they don't perform well enough. I think they will be ok to at least get the engine running. The content is mainly photos and a little video with no music. I'm probably not going to add music to 'rebuild' videos anymore unless the video content really justifies using it. Note: this is not intended to be a tutorial, I'm an amateur DIY'er on a tight budget showing my work in progress of an oily rag restoration of the Austin. Bear in mind that my methods are not necessarily the best. Hope you enjoy the video!
