"Faust Suite has a spacious, concrete feel to it, like an electronic analogue to Bertoia's Sonambient Complete Collection pieces. The fade out/in between tracks is somewhat disruptive but it's otherwise very nice to relax into. Lyd og Lys maintains a nearly subliminally quiet hum; clean tenor tones come and go at various intervals, like alien beings voicing their greetings as they pass by your primitive spacecraft. Syv Cirkler is some haunted-sounding bleeps and tones, kind of like The Caretaker but with ambient techno instead of ballroom music. Etude is the most dissonant of the three singles, layering glitchy bleeps over a growling drone. Illustrationer is a more sparse, concrete piece, layering dissonant whistles and tones over an ambient chime-like drone to evoke a feeling of despair. The last track uses cacophonous segments of piano to solidify this sense of anguish, as if one is coming to understand the terrifying yet inescapable consequences of a misguided action. Glasperlespil conjures the atmosphere of what it might be like to be drifting in and out of consciousness in an unfamiliar hospital, uncertain of your own condition.
