Back in 2012, I compiled my Top 50 Favourite Movies of All Time — and having recently found the series on an old hard drive, I thought that I'd put it together in one massive bumper episode and share it to see just how that list holds up today? Are they really the best movies ever made? How many do you agree with, and what are some of your favourite movies? In this video, I take a nostalgic deep dive into my past picks, revisiting some of the greatest films ever made. From epic period dramas to mind-bending cult classics, from Hollywood blockbusters to obscure comedies, this list is packed with legendary directors, unforgettable performances, and iconic storytelling. Expect to see films from the likes of some of the best film makers to grace the screens, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock, The Coen Brothers, The Anderson's, Paul Thomas and Wes Anderson, alongside a mix of thrillers, biopics, war films, comedies, and bizarre hidden treasures. This list literally spans decades of cinema history. But how do these films hold up in 2025? Have my tastes changed? Would I still consider these the greatest movies ever made, or are some of them overrated? Would I swap out a classic for a modern masterpiece?
