FIRE FIGHTING HELICOPTER - AS350 pilot's skills

The Susa's valley in north west Italy, was already at high risk of fires because of a long summer without rain and high hot winds when, the Sunday of 22nd October 2017, a group of outlaw arsonists gave fire at different part of the valley. In addition to the classic fire-fighting means arrived also a big fleet of fire-fighting aircraft among which 4 Canadair CL-415. The flames over fifty meters high (visible only at night) and scattered through the woods made firefighting very difficult and when the firefighters extinghuished a fire, the pyromanes gave birth to other outbreaks elsewhere. The fires were arrived also in many villages that were evacuated and the giant quantity of grey smoke could be seen from satellite. With a total of more 20 days inside the fires to breathe smoke, at the end of this hell the valley count more of 2000 burned hectars and without dead but only some wounded firefighter.
