(Un)safe Conversations with Tim Ingold - ART-RESEARCH-KNOWLEDGE

In this first edition of Centre for Theatre Studies’ (Un)safe conversations, we invited Tim Ingold to talk about the triadic pillar of artistic studies: art-research-knowledge. Following his thinking on the subject(s), the renowned anthropologist will address topical issues such as the relevance of art as a practice of science, and the corresponding challenges artistic research must embrace in the search for truth (or “wisdom”, as the author prefers to call it) within the current knowledge economy. In this context, the talk will also raise the urgent conversation about the possible roles of the university in artistic studies, including the consideration of education as a practice of attention and its connection with everyday life.
