The Holmberg Pedestrian Bridge, which spans Riverfront Parkway to connect Walnut Street to the Bluff View Art District, originally opened in 2005. However, continuous funding to repair the damage-prone, glass-paneled bridge, required the City of Chattanooga to seek a makeover that was aestetically pleasing and could withstand the test of time. In cooperation with Ross Glass & Aluminum, Hendrick Architectural retrofitted the bridge with its award-winning and proprietary Profile Bar grating panels. Fabricated from 316 stainless steel, the grating uses T16 bars with 3/16" slot openings to ensure the bridge is ADA compliant. The grating also features a slip resistant coating in a fade pattern to provide maximum traction in all weather conditions. Hendrick also supplied additional support bars and custom brackets to meet the attachment requirements to the existing substructure. Hendrick offers easy-to-specify standard products for interior and exterior applications, as well as custom engineered metal solutions limited only by your imagination.
