This is the video about the Falta riverside. Falta is a beautiful picnic spot and historical place. Located in South 24 Parganas on the banks of the Hooghly River, 51 km from Kolkata, Falta is a famous place for beautiful walks and picnics. When Siraj-ud-Daula captured Kolkata in 1756, the British fled here and later Clive recaptured Kolkata from here. Just below Falta the Damodar River joins the Hooghly. Also, the Rupnarayana River joins the Hooghly River near Falta at the site of Tamluk, an essential Buddhist center for 1000 years. In addition to the beauty of the river banks, there is also a Beautiful farmhouse of famous Bengali scientist Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose. How to reach: 1.By Bus-- Bus No. 83 from Babughat straight to Falta. From Esplanade take Nurpur bus and reach here. And there is a direct bus from Taratala straight to Falta. Then go around here by toto or auto. 2. By train-- First reach Diamond Harbor by taking the Diamond Harbor local train from Sealdah South Section. And get out of the station and come to the main road and from there take a direct bus to Falta and reach Falta bus stand. And after reaching Falta bus stand, you can book a toto or auto from there and travel around.
