At this time of year it seems like one or other of the ponds at the farm is always in need of weeding. It’s lucky that Andrea enjoys such jobs (she enjoys them a lot, in fact! :) ). Wearing her Pros chest waders and AquaFleece jacket, she set about pulling lots of plants out of the pond. It was a really hot day and despite the occasional cooling trickles of water over the top of the waders she was far too hot dressed like this. So, she went back to the house to get changed. Inside her AquaFleece she was still pretty dry, but her waterproof jodhpurs were wet inside and her socks were soaking. So, she changed her socks and jods, opting for a non-waterproof pair, and she swapped the chest waders for a pair of Aigle rubber thigh waders. Sure, she was now far more likely to get wet and muddy, but at least she’d be a lot cooler. After another 30 minutes of sweaty work in the pond she was, as expected, soaking wet and very muddy; but she was still far too hot and the job was not yet finished. Time for one more change of clothing! Why even bother with waders and waterproofs? Clearly, on a day like this, weeding the pond is a job for summer-weight jodhpurs, riding boots and a thin blouse.
