Watch: Demopolis annexation of land for gas station moves forward

The Demopolis City Council approved annexing more than 100 acres in Hale County near Gallion at the intersection of U.S. Highways 69 and 80. The council had originally planned to annex 305 acres in Hale County into the Demopolis city limits with hopes of placing a business, probably a gas station or truck stop, on the property when the West Alabama Corridor comes through central Alabama. That annexation plan fell through shortly after the annexation was announced earlier this month. Todd and Cindy talk about the annexation in this segment of the Black Belt Newscast.
