Good morning! The double dayliliies are just about to finish up at @mossmountainfarm and…oh my….what a delight they have been. Some, including myself refer to these as ‘peony flower’ daylilies….because of their peony like appearance. It’s just that their extra double quality makes quite abundant and robust in the garden! I know that may be stretch, but what do you think? When ‘painting with plants’ these bold blotches of color on the canvas are in good contrast to more finer textures…as in this case the white Guara planted in association. Clearly, H ‘Land of Cotton’ is a late flowering type. I like to plant early, mid and late blooming types in equal measure for the longest season of bloom possible. The hydrangeas are now perfect for cutting as dried flowers as they have turned that gorgeous green. Plan to come see us this fall! #paintingwithplants #asenseofplace #artoftgegarden
