Merit's wide vocal range, deep and raspy voice and ability to flow lyrically in a unique but contemporary way, makes his music aurally captivating. Larynx, born Kevon Griffith, grew up in Trinidad but went to the US at the age of 19 to attend the funeral of his father whom he had not seen since he was 4 years old and to meet his mom for the first time since his parents migrated together. The trip was supposed to be a two-week visit but it turned into residency. During this time Merit suffered a stroke of fate through divine encounter that eloquently counseled the premise of his approach to musical advancement. The artiste vowed to never sing or participate in music that he deemed harmful to those who may be influenced thereby. Kevon had an inclination toward music from a very early age but was reputed only for his dancing abilities. At the age of 13 his high school had it's first carnival music competition in which he was the victor. This was moment Merit began taking singing seriously at the age of 16 and started recording songs with; which led to learning music production from various reputable Trinidadian producers. In 2012 Merit graduated with honors from the Institute of Audio Research, which is New York's most ancient audio school. Merit then began interning at studios in New York where he was equipped with techniques and approaches to audio from some very skilled mentors [such as Chris Tabron] who worked with chart topping US artistes, until he was able to fashion his proprietary project studio which he now consistently works out of. Formerly known as Global Siege Music or Sorrel Boyz, a trio that created the viral trinidadian slogan "yuh want some sorrel or wah? eh?" and made a few other contributions, Merit' had a change of motive that led him to rationalize the brand's ideological values which resulted in the name being changed to LOW Music. The concept is inspired by the biblical and architectural approach of digging deeper (going lower) in order to go higher the higher you want build, the lower you go. "My goal is to influence! I want to affect mentalities, moods, and most importantly, lives! There's a moral decay and I want to affect change in anyone who will receive my messages.
