St James Park Guide | St James Park Ground Guide | Newcastle United FC Away Grounds Guide • Видео / @awaygrounds9004 It dominates the skyline as it approaches St James' Park. The capacity of the Milburn and Leazes Stands was increased to 52,400 in 2000 by adding a tier. These stands feature a lower tier with rows of executive boxes, and a higher tier. It boasts a stunning roof that was once the largest cantilever structure in Europe. The stadium's unique roof is almost breath-taking. It is transparent, which allows natural light through the roof and facilitates pitch growth. Overall, St James Park is somewhat uneven. One half of the ground appears significantly larger than the two other sides. The Gallowgate End (and East Stand) are the remaining sides of St James' Park. They are the same height and are each two-tiered. All four corners of the stadium are enclosed. A large video screen was added to the Sir John Hall Stand's upper side in October 2014. It is quite unusual because of its location. Three statues are located outside the stadium. They represent former players Jackie Milburn, Alan Shearer and former manager Sir Bobby Robson. Away fans can be found in the upper tier on the far side of Leazes Stand. For league games, this section can accommodate up to 3000 supporters. A larger allocation for cup games is possible. It is a steep climb up 14 flights of stairs to reach the away section Mag Pies. (Thankfully no magpies were found in them), mince and onion PS3.70, Balti Pies P3.90, Peppered Steak Pies P3.90 and Cheese and Onion Pies PC3.50), all in Newcastle United-branded packaging. (I wonder if they lost sales when playing Sunderland!) You can also find televisions at the concourse showing the game live. There are separate refreshment areas that serve alcohol in Newcastle United-branded plastic glasses. An ATM is located at the corner of Milburn Stands and Gallowgate Stands, if you need cash. Jeremy Gold, a Leyton Orient supporter and visitor adds: 'The visitors section can be found on level seven at top of the stand. Although it's not the best view, it's still nice. Don't go if you have vertigo. I was very impressed with the stewarding of the game. People were warned not to gesture before being thrown out. Unfortunately, not everyone got the memo and only a few made it down the fourteen flights of stairs.
