Army jacket in memory of Loftur Gunnarsson Loftur Gunnarsson was born on September 11th 1979 in Reykjavik. He passed away on the 20th of January 2012 only 32 years old. His family and friends started a memory fund in his name that fights for the homeless in Iceland. Loftur was raised in Garðabær most of his life with his mother and step father. He has two older siblings and one younger half sister. As a child Loftur was very sweet and had much interest in sports. He also spent a lot of time skateboarding with his friends. Loftur had many friends and a very kind heart. He really liked music and cutting out in wood. Many people know Loftur from downtown Reykjavik where he spent a lot of his time the last years. He drank much and spent a part of his life on the streets. He was really interested in arts and often changed and decorated his clothes so they would fit his style. Many people knew him by the army jacket he so often wore. He had decorated the jacket himself so it was really unique. The local designer Nonni from the label Dead added prints on the jacket and during the time Loftur wore the jacket he added things like safety pins and badges and the jacket will be as close to the original jacket when re-produced. It is our goal to raise money for the production of the jacket in memory of Loftur who would have turned 35 years old on September 11th 2014. The webpage of the Memory Fund: www.lofturgunnarsson.com All profits from the production of the jacket will go to the next project of The Memory Fund of Loftur Gunnarsson which is to buy 8 new beds for a home for homeless men on Njálsgata 74. The fund has already started a necessary discussion in society about the homeless in Iceland. The first goal was reached when the fund bought 20 new beds for the mens homeless shelter in Reykjavik. In the beginning of 2014 it reached the second milestone along with other parties when they bought 9 new beds for the women's homeless shelter in Reykjavik. https://www.karolinafund.com/project/... www.lofturgunnarsson.com
