Behind the Build of the OKC Convention Center
The Oklahoma City Convention Center is a marvel of design, engineering and construction know-how. The project team overcame challenges like "aggressive cantilevers," hoisting 9 foot plate girders, setting 165 foot long trusses and beams that weighted 145,000 lbs, not to mention getting the 30,000 lb escalators in place after the roof was installed. Flintco worked alongside the City of Oklahoma City, the MAPS-3 team, project partners Populous, GSB, and other design consultants to make it happen, delivering this magnificent structure for Oklahoma City.
