Design For Independence Project, Thank You to the Downtown Chattanooga Rotary Club!

The Design for Independence Project (DFI) involves freshmen engineering students putting what they learn in the classroom to work. Signal Centers goes out into the Chattanooga area to find projects to write up for UTC Engineering students, all while overseeing and directing the process. These projects are providing supports to teachers with students with disabilities in their classrooms or individual families/people with disabilities. At the same time, teaching engineering students about incorporating accessibility in their designs. DFI tasks UTC Engineering students with a problem to solve, while simultaneously teaching them how engineering benefits individuals directly. Thank you to the Downtown Rotary Club for your support.
