I LOVE WHIP PAN TRANSITIONS SO MUCH. I over used them like crazy in highschool and to me the vibe of Kill Bill or Scott Pilgrim kind of encompass the fun action feeling of a whip pan. It really works well with the playful but high stakes vibe of watching Magic play and so @sallirichwhit , @toddbanhazl , and I connected a montage with some whip pans for Season 1 of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. We expanded on this idea for Season 2... New episodes every Sunday on HBO MAX. The low profile dolly rig is something I’ve seen in hockey forever and it naturally made it’s way to basketball but @_davidrichardson took it up a notch with the drop down arm and Alex Bunin’s super sleek custom delta head. @sarahlevycamera captained the wheels to help with framing while @daveedsall pulled focus on that Panavision glass we all obsess over. Just add in the help of over a thousand other people and BOOM here’s some more colors for the editors to paint with. - @johnlyke
