Hey, it’s time for Last Night in the Lowco on WHHI, powered by LowcoSports.com. It was a weekend for basketball lovers in the Lowco, starting with a full slate of high school games Friday night, including the crosstown clash between Bluffton and May River in front of a packed house in The Den. Liz Duncan poured in 25 points and helped the Sharks pull away for a 52-37 win in the girls game, but the Bobcat boys punched back with a 50-38 victory, staying perfect in Region 6-4A. Elsewhere, Beaufort’s girls pulled away from Hilton Head to win 53-36 and remain unbeaten in region play, John Paul II’s girls picked up a big win at Laurence Manning, and Hardeeville’s boys kept pace atop Region 7-1A with a 63-61 win over rival Ridgeland. And then there was a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader in The Cove, where the USCB Sand Sharks swept in-state rival USC Aiken to keep pace in the PBC standings. Lydia Gattozzi scored 21 points and freshman Zee Kendrick had 16 points and five rebounds to lead the Sand Shark women to an 83-59 win, and four players hit double-figures for the USCB men in an 83-71 victory in a rematch of last year’s PBC Tournament championship. Both USCB teams are just one game out of first place in the PBC. We’ll go deeper on all of this news plus much more this week on the Lowco Media Network on YouTube. For LowcoSports and WHHI, I’m Justin Jarrett. Until next time, Go Lowco.
