They were from a different country, weren't "civilized" in the way people here thought of it, and, most importantly, weren't Christians. Here are eight scary things about how the famous Vikings lived: Often regarded as savages, heathens, and barbarians, Vikings were mostly a sophisticated and civilized society defying the expectations of contemporary Europeans who considered them nothing but menace.
