http://www.jmgarage.org RML Group has an exclusive project in store: to bring an updated version of the Ferrari 250 SWB back to the road. For the Short Whellbase, the British engineers thought of an existing platform that had a V12 as standard, and the choice fell on the Ferrari 550 Maranello and its 5.5-liter 485 HP. Just 30 of the RML Short Wheelbase are expected, with deliveries starting in 2022. The exhaust system and radiators for water, oil, transmission and air conditioning have been specially designed for this car. The engine itself, being used units, is reconditioned and bench tested before being fitted to each model. The set-up includes Öhlins shock absorbers and 18 "wheels with Pirelli tires. The transmission, as in the 550 Maranello, is manual six-speed, with the classic selection grid inspired by classic Ferraris. The Short Wheelbase will be capable of touching 100 km/h from a standstill in about 4 seconds, while the maximum speed is about 300 km/h. Per la Short Whellbase, i tecnici inglesi hanno pensato a una piattaforma già esistente che avesse un V12 a corredo, e la scelta è ricaduta sulla Ferrari 550 Maranello e sul suo 5.5 litri da 485 CV. Della RML Short Wheelbase sono previsti appena 30 esemplari, le cui consegne inizieranno nel 2022. Sono stati appositamente progettati, per questa vettura, l'impianto di scarico e i radiatori per acqua, olio, trasmissione e climatizzazione. Il motore stesso, trattandosi di unità usate, viene ricondizionato e testato al banco prima di essere montato su ogni esemplare. L'assetto prevede ammortizzatori Öhlins e cerchi da 18" con pneumatici Pirelli. La trasmissione, così come nella 550 Maranello, è manuale sei marce, con la classica griglia di selezione ispirata proprio alle Ferrari classiche. La Short Wheelbase sarà capace di toccare i 100 km/h da fermo in circa 4 secondi, mentre la velocità massima è di circa 300 km/h.
