Today I am testing the maximum flight time of the Xiaomi Fimi A3 drone using the supplied charger and a better, balanced charger. Please see below for the reason why I am flying until the battery gets to 9.8V. You shouldn’t fly below this voltage. The Fimi A3 uses a 3S battery which means it has three Lipo batteries connected in series for a nominal charged voltage of 3.7V each x 3 batteries = 11.1V total. Peak voltage is 4.2V per cell or 12.6V for a 3S battery. The minimum safe charge for a Lipo battery is 3.0v each or 9V for a 3S battery and it is recommended to stop using the battery around 3.2V per cell or 9.6V for a 3S battery as a precaution to keep it above 9V. If you continue to fly the drone below 9V then future battery life may be reduced. I decided to use 9.8V as my target voltage for this test as it is a safe, low voltage.
