A special repost of the first ever full live performance recorded and released. Originally posted without video. On 11th October 1933 Gracie's performance at the Holborn Empire, London was recorded and released as 3 x 12" 78rpm records, there is a note that a charge will be made for the album on the inside page. So these records were possibly available with or without the album. An added bonus for me was this has been signed by Gracie so I know it was touched by the great lady. Unfortunately there is a patch of water damage on the edge. Gracie sings some of her recent mostly comic songs, by the time she gets to 'Sally' although it was only 2 years after she recorded it she remarks "I'll still be singing it when I'm 70" it was actually the last song she sang on stage aged 80. She came on as a special guest on the 1978 Royal Variety Show, still in great voice she sang 'Sally' before stepping back into the line of stars, they then sang the National Anthem and the curtain came down on her illustrious career. Gracie was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 1979 New Years Honours . She made one last performance in July 1979 in Capri but she caught pneumonia. She died on September 27th 1979.
