Today we're going to do some work in the shop, and go for a little ride! Archer components sent me the new version of their D1-X wireless shifting system. The system will add electronic wireless shifting to ANY drivetrain. You could put this on a Walmart bike with a 6 speed cassette and it would work. You could then swap the cassette and use one with more gears, and you could still get it to work with the same derailleur. Today we're be using a Box 11 speed derailleur with a 9 speed cassette. Features of the new system include better reliability, longer battery life, and improved shifter buttons. Many of the complaints I had on the last system were addressed.
