More than 200 guns have been taken off the streets of the West Midlands this year in a major success for our efforts to tackle serious and organised crime around the region. Police seized 210 lethal barreled firearms since January – up 40% from last year’s figure of 150. Our Major Crime Unit’s Proactive (MCUP) team who relentlessly pursue and bring to justice those involved in guns, drugs and exploitation, seized a number of the weapons. Amongst them are this Madsen machine gun which was hidden behind a bath panel at a home in Stechford, along with a revolver, ammunition, and tools to convert blank-firing guns into live weapons.
