It's a moderate to challenging hike in the Harz Mountains, about 2.5-3 hours on the way up, and 2 hours down (unless you take the steam train). The eye-catcher is the striking Brocken peak, often shrouded in mist, always shrouded in legend. Storms have always raged around the isolated summit plateau.
