In a recent YouTube video uploaded to his ComicArtistPro Secrets channel titled, “SUPERMAN IS GAY! Shocking DC Comics SCOOP!!” Van Sciver claims, “They are coming for your children.  The Cyberfrog creator then recapped the recent retcon of Tim Drake a.k.a. Robin into a bisexual. He explained, “Just recently DC Comics announced much to the ballyhoo of newspapers like The New York Times and the shock and dismay to newspapers like The New York Post that Robin, Tim Drake Robin, is bisexual now.” “There was a whole thing on Twitter about how Robin is going to be exploring his sexuality. Comics used to be about having adventures. Comics used to be about characters fighting evil, fighting colorful, scary, cool villains and all of that,” he continued. Van Sciver added, “Somewhere along the line they became almost entirely about identity. It’s almost like, at this point, there is very little money in mainstream comics and the one way to definitely get a little attention, to get some press, is to announce a character is trans or bisexual or there is a trans or bisexual or homosexual in the comics.” “I just want to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong, if you are gay and you are comicsgate, we love you and you are welcome, and there should be gay characters in comics.
