What I Have Learned About Kentucky Bluegrass the Past Three Years The main thing I think I have learned about Kentucky Bluegrass in the Past Three Years is that it's a little tougher than folks give it credit for. We have some pretty hot summers here in NC and my KBG has held up exceptionally well. It's very healthy and very thick. I have watered it basically the same as I water my tall fescue. If you have trouble keeping tall fescue going strong in the summer then Blue Heat is NOT for you. KBG requires water in the summer to thrive.
