Have you ever wonder ? why don't just some company make tire based on car that was send to mars? Its logical decision, since the tire for that kind of transportation is the best kind of tire. Its strong, durable, and never get flat. Yup, because of the price, that’s why, the proses to make it is longer and the material is simply very expensive. Therefore the price would skyrocket. So, so far we can only hope. Until now, Now we finally got our wish. A company based on Los Angeles, the SMART tire company, announces plans to bring NASA technology back down to earth. the team unveiled its revolutionary "shape memory alloy radial technology" or "SMART". to create a space-age tire which aims to transform the performance of vehicles, on and off road, widening the scope of mobility going forward. NASA were the original developer of these super-elastic tires and have now been commercialized for use by this startup Company. The tires are airless, durable, and will never go flat. The wheels are made of a special material called “shape memory alloy” that is as strong as titanium, but can also be elastic like rubber. While the SMART tires are as awesome as I said before, the NASA technology offers one more gains, changing benefit, which is the tires produce drastically less waste. As you may know, the environmental impact of tires is a problem. all ocean plastic comes from tire run off alone could reach 20 to 30%. the team at SMART tire company addresses the issue with a radical solution. The NASA-developed SMART tires use rubber, but require less of it than conventional tires, and therefore produce less waste. The tires contain no structural support and barely any air pressure, so they lose no air or fuel efficiency with each mile driven. the innovation could be very much transform the industry, 70% of current tire business is replacements. with punctures and tears a much less serious problems, the tires are less likely to be discarded. A new METL bicycle tire from SMART, will use the same innovative material that NASA will use on its fetch rover in 2026. When exposed to strain, the tires can rearrange their molecular structure and return to their original shape. The tires can also be easily cut to fit any bike wheel. METL bikes are planned to be produce in 2022. Hopefully we will see it soon. That’s it for todays video. I hope you enjoy it. Also don’t forget to subscribe for more content like this.
