MARCH 2 - When Life Feels Heavy 3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 11:20–21; Job 3 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...) // 3-Year Bible Devotional Book (Year Two) Available on Amazon (https://amzn.to/4pmHfWh) // ________________________________________ “Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the Lord, but those of blameless ways are his delight. Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.” — Proverbs 11:20–21 (ESV) “Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb?” — Job 3:11 (ESV) ________________________________________ Have you ever had one of those days—or even weeks—when everything feels too heavy to carry? Job knew that feeling. In Job 3, after losing almost everything, he wondered why he was even alive. It’s raw and real, the kind of honesty we sometimes hesitate to bring to God. But here’s the thing: God isn’t afraid of our hardest questions or our deepest pain. At the same time, Proverbs 11 reminds us that even when life feels unfair, God sees it all. He delights in those who walk with Him and promises that justice will come, even if we don’t see it right away. Job didn’t get instant answers, but his story shows us that God can handle our pain and stay with us through it. ________________________________________ THINK ABOUT IT 1. Honest with God: Job poured out his feelings without holding back. How can you be more honest with God about what you’re feeling or facing right now? 2. God’s Justice: “The offspring of the righteous will be delivered” (Proverbs 11:21). How does knowing God promises justice and deliverance encourage you when things feel unfair? 3. Faith in the Middle: Job’s story didn’t end in chapter 3. How can you hold onto faith even when you don’t yet see how your story will turn out? ________________________________________ BOTTOM LINE God can handle your deepest questions and promises to stay with you until His justice and hope break through. ________________________________________ PRAYER Heavenly Father, thank You for being big enough to handle my questions, doubts, and pain. When life feels heavy, remind me that You see me, You care, and You promise to bring justice and hope. Help me trust You even when I don’t have all the answers. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
