J.S.Bach - ERSCHIENEN IST DER HERRLICHE TAG (BWV 629)

Happy Easter everybody!! I just had to play some easter organ music so there is my rendition of J.S.Bach’s “Erschienen ist der herrliche Tag" (BWV 629) played on my Hauptwerk organ. I have chosen to use the sample set of Noordbroek, created by Sonus Paradisi. Erschienen ist der herrliche Tag (BWV 629) is a German Easter hymn, written by Nikolaus Herman in 1560 with the text speaking of the joy of the resurrection. Bach starts the chorale prelude in minor but ends in major, which seems like a harmonic description on what happens from Good Friday to Easter Sunday. The chorale melody is played in canon at the octave between soprano and bass (occasionally changed to fit the harmony). The left hand plays plays a texture which also can be found in other chorale preludes by Bach (most notably the "Wer nun den Lieben Gott lässt walten" also from Orgelbüchlein) ________________ HOW TO SUPPORT MY WORK AND MY CHANNEL The most important thing is that the people watching my video enjoy them and hopefully want to subscribe to my channel.
