In this video I will be giving you a objective and unbiased review of the $2400 (+tax(CDN)) knee brace that I have become very attached to over the last few months. I injured myself snowboarding: It was early December, and Kevin (from SnowboardProCamp) and I decided to go build a beckcountry kicker on the backside of Blackcomb Mountain. Most attempts I treid some tricks and fell, I wanted to get one clean shot and decided instead of trying a flip or 360 I would just go for a grab.... this was my downfall. I landed in a heap on the floor and knew I had damaged my knee instantly. After getting an MRI the diagnosis was a high grade II tear on ACL and PCL and a torn lateral meniscus. As my injury was a bit more complicated than your average one, I needed a special brace to help heal it. This brace, the OSSUR PCL REBOUND Brace is the only brace that offers a dynamic loading system on when using your leg. Most braces have a static pressure like a pressure bandage where the force remains constant. The PCL Rebound Brace is designed so that as your bend the knee the amount of force applied increases. General Stuff about this brace: It is custom fitted and takes about a week to get manufactured. The frame is built from carbon fiber. There are two main materials against the skin; first is a fairly standard soft padding on the upper leg and outside of the knee. The lower leg is a microfiber gel which is supposed to always be against the skin.
