By Milan Sharma & Saurabh Shukla In a bizarre turn of events that feels more like an internet prank than a national board exam, the CBSE Class 12 Mathematics paper has left 20 lakh students and their parents scratching their heads. The "high-security" QR codes printed on the question papers—meant to verify authenticity—are reportedly leading users to a YouTube music video from 1987. While the Board maintains that the papers are "genuine" and the security remains "uncompromised," the incident has opened up old wounds of the 2018 paper leaks. Are our national exams becoming a meme? (00:00:00) Saurabh Shukla: “Yesterday was the Class 12 Mathematics exam—the big one. But instead of solving equations, students are now decoding a joke." Instead, it became a portal to the 80s hit 'Never Gonna Give You Up'. Milan Sharma: Our Gen-Z students scanned it out of curiosity, only to find a white man dancing on their screens. It’s a classic internet 'Rickroll', but on a CBSE paper? It happens 'Only in India'. They admit the link exists but insist the paper is genuine. Saurabh Shukla: "CBSE says security is uncompromised. But if the QR code is 'wrong', how can we be sure the 'rest' is right?
