Halia Gunung Karak @ Bentong | Beautifull Hidden Waterfall | New Years Eve Hike.

From the info i got from locals is that this beautiful panoramic place got its name after the place was transform into a organic ginger plantation. Its private land is actually in Lentang Forest Reserve. Initially wanted to visit Sg.Dua falls at first. But decided to go for this instead as im sure will be less crowded on new years eve. This involves around 2.1 Km of hiking gravel roads from Carpark. We parked at Chinese Cemetery. 3.41573060405102, 102.01896073872574 This is also the entrance to rarely hiked Bukit Lentang (821M). To go to the waterfall , have to hike jungle trails around 600 meters from Halia Gunung Karak signboard. Not advisable for kids. Till now i still havent really get the real name of the waterfall.. Last time use to call it Karak waterfall. But some say its name is Lata Temariak. If anyone have info can let me know. I find this waterfall one of the better ones around Bentong due to less popularity and cleanliness. It took around 1hour plus to reach the Halia cafe where the Gunung Karak sign board is located. We skip the lookout point due to hot sun. We started very late. To get to the water fall requires you to hike around 15-20 minutes, from Halia cafe. Difficulty level - Easy to moderate , Terrain was mostly 4wd tracks meant for farmers, so expect hot sun if you start late. The journey to the waterfall is jungle trails which is fully covered. Do note that Waterfalls on the upper level is not suitable for kids due to steep path to reach there. Path is pretty easy to navigate. Just stick close to the main path. Morning Sunrise are said to be very beautiful due to cloud carpet formation. Best to start hiking around 6am.
