On November 18, 2020 the USS Constitution Museum honored Col. Nicole Malachowski (USAF, Ret.) with its 2020 Isaac Hull Medal of Honor for Leadership and Public Service. During her exemplary career, Col. Malachowski broke barriers as a combat jet fighter pilot and the first woman USAF Thunderbird pilot, and now she serves as a speaker and advocate for veterans and patients suffering from Lyme disease and tick-borne illnesses. In a keynote address and Q&A session, Nicole inspired the audience with her story of resilience, recovery, and navigating turbulent times. This program also included remarks from Museum President Anne Grimes Rand, Museum Chairman Paul George, and an introduction from Col. Malachowski’s friend and 74th Commanding Officer of USS Constitution, CDR Robert S. Gerosa, Jr. (USN, Ret.). This program was made possible by Presenting Sponsor Liberty Mutual Insurance, as well as many other generous corporate and individual sponsors. The Museum thanks all of our sponsors for their support of our mission to engage all ages in the story of “Old Ironsides” to spark excitement about maritime heritage, naval service, and the American experience.
