This behind-the-scenes video is from a real-life architectural photography shoot in the mountains of Western North Carolina for Brevard, NC-based Hogan Design Group. (https://www.hogandesignwnc.com). As someone who has a lot to say and is always happy to share my opinion, The Semi Silent series was inspired by 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 in which Paul writes "... and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.". In short, I wanted to shoot things on my own terms and create something new and I want to work with people who not only appreciate but respect my approach to photographing a project. This series was born out of that desire. This multi-camera shoot includes a screen recording of my tethered workflow (Camranger), on-location footage, and how I carefully compose and capture each image. With no talking and only natural ambient sounds and relaxing music, this video captures my process from start to finish. The shoot was around 4 hours long but trimmed into just over 15 minutes.
