Meet Dr. Nkosenathi E. Koela (@Mntana_WeXhwele) — an Initiated Healer, instrument maker, and PhD scholar in Indigenous Music Therapies at the University of Cape Town — as he shares his journey to build African arts, culture, and research centres on his land in Shiyalongubo, Mpumalanga. Rooted in ritual, land, and lineage, Dr. Koela’s work honours African epistemologies and modalities through sound healing, craftsmanship, and teaching. His multi-disciplinary practice, alongside the sonic collective Embo Ethongweni, brings ancient technologies into contemporary resonance — where sound becomes both spirit and structure. 🎶 In this story of Uhadi — the sacred musical bow — songs by the legendary Madosini echo through the spirit: “Yaka Yaka,” “Way’hlinzaphi,” and “Uthando Luphelile” breathe life into living archives. 📍 Follow his work. Support his vision.🌍 More at: umnombo-institute.com📩 Make contact and be part of the journey to sustain and reimagine African knowledge systems — on the land, with the ancestors, through the music.
