With Hoffman becoming Jigsaws apprentice finally, I was intrigued to hear about Death Count. As Alex commented, it is trying so hard to be like Saw that they even cast Detective Hoffman! We are following the Warden as he pits unlucky contestants / victims / teachers in a cruel online game of torture and traps while live streaming the whole event. Now will this weird Hoffman / Saw side step manage to capture the leading franchise or will it just end up feeling more like its weird cousin that doesn't get invited to family events? We have basements, an abandoned factory, tools, scores, likes and the gruff voice to carry up though. Will he be the leading man or another assistant?
