WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and INCEPTION! :P This plot bunny has gnawing at my bones since yesterday, lol! :P I think if Erik did indeed find a mutant that was capable of changing Charles's mind about humanity being just as same as them, he'd actually do it. xP Originally I had intended to use the Children of Dune clips for a "Shaw kidnaps Charles" AU but my inspiration fused out after making the intro. So I made this instead! xP | | | STORY Erik hires a certain mutant team who can manipulate dreams and change one's mind-set to something else entirely. This team just so happens to be Cobb's. (He calls Arthur, Eames and Nash into this, could be post-Inception or pre-Inception.) Somehow they manage to capture Charles, sedate him and enter him through his dream state by changing various memories of things that had already passed on the beach. Cobb inceptions it so that even though in reality Charles had - in a way - been able to stop Erik from killing the soldiers at the beach... But in the inceptioned version, Charles just stands by while Erik lets the missiles blast the ships to smithereens. Erik himself isn't in the dream, but at some point Eames disguises himself as the mutant during the chess scene. Charles wakes up from the dream, however, cause his mind is trying to fight off the intrusion.
